Our Summer Travel Plans
With us living in Austin, we have a bigger airport, more flights and of course are closer to Mexico. So here’s a sneak peak at our upcoming summer travel!
Sun Valley/Ketchum
As many of you know, we got married in Sun Valley, Idaho. And it’s one of our favorite places to spend a long weekend. It’s obviously a very special place for us. But it’s such a neat resort community located in the mountains of Idaho. So we’ll stay at the Limelight Hotel in Ketchum, take Madi on hikes and of course eat some delicious food.
Washington D.C.
With our Travel Agency (Virtual Travel Gurus), we do a lot of bookings at the Park Hyatt Washington D.C. And our clients constantly rave about the Blue Duck Tavern, the famous restaurant located in the Park Hyatt. So, we’re tired of taking their word for how great it is. And we are flying up to Washington D.C. the weekend before the 4th of July to check it our for ourselves. And since it’s the weekend before the 4th, some Independence Day Activities are taking place that weekend including fireworks at Mount Vernon. So it should be a fun weekend!
Miraval Austin
Hyatt’s new wellness retreat, the Miraval Austin resort, just opened a few months ago. And since it is less than 30 minutes from our new home, we decided that we had to try it out! It’ll be an interesting experience. Their tag line is “Embark on your journey to Life in Balance at Miraval Austin Resort & Spa”. And going along with that, you can’t have your phone in any public space at the resort. So it will be a long weekend relaxing and embarking on our journey to Life in Balance. And I’m quite confident Nick will drag me to a yoga class.
Cincinnati/Indiana
Brandon’s family lives in Eastern Indiana. So we’ll be flying into Cincinnati, visiting some friends in the Cincinnati area and then spending a long weekend with his family.
Cabo
Hyatt (if you’re picking up on a trend, we are quite loyal to Hyatt) acquired Two Roads Hospitality last year. And when they did that, they gained several new aspirational hotels and resorts including The Cape, a Thompson Hotel in Cabo. So in August, we are spending a long weekend relaxing at The Cape and exploring Cabo San Lucas. It will be our first real trip to Mexico (crazy we know). But not the last. We have more Mexico trips planned later this year!
What Are Your Summer Plans
So that wraps up our busy summer travel plans. And of course we’re hoping to spend plenty of time exploring our new home hometown of Austin. And I wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t end up taking a few weekend trips to Dallas/Fort Worth and San Antonio. Oh, and I know I won’t be able to keep Nick away from the Magnolia Market in Waco!
So what are your summer plans? Let us know in the comments. And of course, if you happen to end up in Austin, please let us know. So we can give you our recommendations and of course say hi!
Maybe we will see you this summer.
