Our Verdict

The Miramonte Indian Wells Resort & Spa is a four star hotel, resort and spa located in Indian Wells, California (just outside of Palm Springs). The resort recently unveiled an $8 million property-wide renovation, marking the end of a multiyear makeover and rebranding project. That rebranding project included joining the Curio Collection by Hilton back in December of 2016. And as many of our readers know, we are big fans of Hilton's Curio Collection.

Miramonte Indian Wells Resort & Spa

So after visiting Palm Springs once before and being a fan of Curio Collection, we were excited for our stay at the Miramonte Indian Wells Resort & Spa. We spent three nights in March of this year. And overall we enjoyed our stay. The remodel of the public areas such as the lobby, restaurants and spa was fabulous. The lobby was modern, yet inviting and opened up into the lobby bar and the hotel's restaurant.

We were quickly greeted, advised of our Hilton Diamond benefits and given a quick overview of the resort. Unlike many resorts, I would consider the Miramonte Indian Wells Resort & Spa a bit on the smaller side. But nonetheless, it still has plenty of options to satisfy guests of all ages.

Our Room

Unlike the public areas of the resort, the rooms at the Miramonte Indian Wells Resort & Spa have not been remodeled yet. But hopefully they will be soon as the rooms are starting to show signs of wear. But our room was still comfortable. We had booked a King Suite and we had a large living area, separate bedroom and a large bathroom. The room was well appointed with a comfortable bed and sitting area.

And while a bit dated, the bathroom had a double vanity, soaking tub and walk-in shower.

The Miramonte uses toiletries from Archive, a brand we weren't familiar with. And while they were decent enough, honestly for a higher end resort and spa, they felt a bit cheap.

Dining

The newly redesigned lobby area of the Miramonte Indian Wells Resort opens up to a refreshed bar and lounge concept, Tavern at Citrus & Palm, and the renamed farm-to-table restaurant Citrus & Palm.

And this is where the Miramonte truly shines. We ate at Citrus & Palm several times, twice for breakfast and once for dinner. And this farm-to-table restaurant is absolutely incredible. The food was delicious and the service was great. And this is a bold statement, but it could be one of the best hotel/resort restaurants we've ever eaten at. Executive Chef Paul Hancock has revamped the seasonal menu to incorporate more local ingredients sourced directly from Coachella Valley farmers. And you can tell. The food just couldn't be any better. We loved the chilaquiles at breakfast and the pork chops were svory and delicious.

And remember if you are a Hilton Honors gold or diamond member, you'll get complimentary breakfast at Citrus & Palm!

Amenities

The Miramonte Resort has one main pool area with a large pool, lounge chairs and a hot tub. The resort has one other smaller pool area. The main pool has music and food and beverage service. While the weather was a bit cloudy, we still enjoyed laying by the pool with a cocktail in hand.

But the Miramonte Indian Wells Resort & Spa is known for their award winning spa.

The Well Spa offers private and couple treatment rooms along with a great set of of amenities like a sauna, steam room and outdoor private pools and hot tubs.

The Miramonte Resort also has a fitness center. And while it's not the best fitness center we've seen, it has enough to get a decent enough workout in.

Overall Impression

Despite the Miramonte being a smaller resort, we enjoyed our stay. We do hope they start a refurbishment project of the rooms sooner than later, as the rooms don't match the feel of the rest of the renovated property. But the spa, the restaurants and the service make the Miramonte Indian Wells Resort a place that we would recommend and return to.

And remember, if you book with a travel agent like Virtual Travel Gurus, you'll get extra benefits like complimentary breakfast, a $100 resort credit, room upgrade, early check-in and late check-out!
